How do sign up for Montgomery County Recreational Centers?
Q: Who is eligible to get FOP Tags and how do I get them?
A: In order to obtain FOP tag application forms from the Lodge 35 office, you must be an Active member in good standing of Lodge 35 or a retired member in good standing of Lodge 35. If you resigned from MCP or your FOP membership has been suspended for any reason, you are ineligible to get FOP tags. You must be listed as either the owner or co-owner of the vehicle.
If you are eligible, then you need to bring the following to the FOP Lodge 35 office, located at 18512 Office Park Drive, Montgomery Village, MD 20886.
1) Your driver's license (if you are the co-owner, then you need the owner's soundex number too)
2) The registration for the vehicle, or the title if you have not yet registered the vehicle
3) The insurance information for the vehicle (name of company and policy number)
4) A check or cash in the amount of $10 to pay for the FOP tag application
Once the application has been completed by an authorized member of the FOP office staff, you can take the application to the MVA in Glen Burnie (the only location that will process the application). If the vehicle is a new purchase, the dealership can send the application to MVA, or you can mail the application to the MVA and include a check for $25 which covers the payment for the FOP logo tag.
If your membership in FOP 35 is suspended, or you resign or are terminated from employment with MCP, then you are required to return your FOP tags to MVA. Lodge 35 will notify MVA if this occurs and the tags have not been voluntarily returned.
